Based in 19th Century England, we find ourselves mainly focused on the life of Elizabeth Bennet amongst her four other sisters wanting to find love. After a ball, Elizabeth finds herself attracted to a man who she had the pleasure of dancing with twice, but it doesn’t happen as quickly as you’d imagine. They are complete opposites; despite being a handsome and rich man, he is very unfriendly and cold, while she is an outgoing and playful person. They seem to be so different from each other that it would be merely impossible for them to ever end up together. Pride and Prejudice is amongst the most famous romance novels and is the classic happy ending book we all know and love.
I loved this book so much, not only because it was a great place to start with reading classics, but because of how well it was written too. The title is super fitting to what the story entails, and the themes of family and love were super well shown in this book. Even though I’m not super interested in the romance genre, this book had me captivated; I had a hard time putting it down. Although it was written a long time ago, it still remains one of the most popular romance books, and I would highly recommend it if this topic interests you!
