I love flipping through cookbooks with good pictures because the food looks good and I want to try making all of the recipes in the book. It was the pictures that first attracted me to Angela Liddon’s cookbooks, particularly her newest one, Oh She Glows Everyday. Oh She Glows Everyday is the follow up to 2014’s The Oh She Glows Cookbook. Liddon is a vegan blogger who has created and shared over 500 plant-based recipes on her site. The Oh She Glows Cookbook shared Liddon’s favourite recipes. Oh She Glows Everyday was written a few years later, after the birth of her daughter. Suddenly Liddon had a lot less time for food preparation, so she needed to find some easy-to-prepare meals for her family. The results are the 100 recipes collected in Oh She Glows Everyday, complete with scrumptious-looking pictures.
Oh She Glows Everyday is divided into nine chapters, covering everything from smoothies and breakfasts to desserts and snacks. While all of the recipes are plant-based, they are omnivore-approved, so even if you have no intention of giving up meat you will still find them satisfying. There are also many kid-friendly recipes or recipes that can be made more kid-friendly, so that’s a huge plus, too. As advertised, the recipes are all very easy to make, which is great if you have a busy and active lifestyle (or just don’t want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen). And I really can’t say enough about the pictures: Liddon is a self-trained photographer who has a real talent for showcasing food.
All in all, Oh She Glows Everyday is a fantastic cookbook that will have your mouth watering just flipping through all the pictures.
