March Break is jam packed with activities at the library so let’s get right to it! Any activities that have an * require registration 2 weeks in advance, so call ahead or go online to sign up!
Baby Time storytime will continue at County Park (Thursdays @ 10:30am and 2pm) as well as at Brodie (Thursdays @ 10:30 am). At Waverley, there will be a special Baby Time Mom and Me Yoga for babies 0-2 and their parents! Feel free to bring a mat, but it’s not required.
Brodie Library is hosting a spectacular Glow-in-the-Dark Storytime March 11 @ 10:30am! Expect stories, songs and activities for all ages. For St. Patrick’s Day, there will be a drop-in, all ages puppet show called Leprechauns Never Lie on March 13 @ 10:30am. Afterwards, build a leprechaun trap! March 14 the famous Grumpy Grampas will be performing for all ages @ 10:30am. Tickets available starting Feb 28 at Brodie. March 15 @ 10:30am anyone can grab a seat and some popcorn to watch Teen Titans Go! To the Movies (rated PG).
County Park wants to see kids 5+ compete in Minute To Win It*, testing their skills in a variety of challenges at 10:30am on March 11. Kids 4-8 can register to learn yoga breathing and mindfulness in Yoga for Kids* on March 12. On March 13 there will be a STEM Activity* event where kids aged 5+ can challenge themselves to create things using the power of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math @ 10:30am and 2pm!
Mary J L Black Library has programs starting March 11 @ 2:30pm with Springtime Stories and Crafts, a drop-in, all ages spring focused storytime. Craftpalooza will be hosted March 12 @ 2:30pm. This all ages craft event helps us recycle extra crafts or remix them into something new! On March 13 @ 2:30pm there’s an all ages puppet show called the Frog Prince. Science North will also be stopping by at Mary J for Feel the Rush @ 2pm March 14. Come get your adrenaline pumping with their extreme sports exhibit! And come to the Frog Prince Continued March 15 @ 2:30 pm to find out what happens after the hoppily ever after.
At Waverley, on Monday March 11 @ 2:30pm kids 5-8 can take it back to 1899 for a Hotel Transylvania Tea*! For all the Viking or dragon-rider hopefuls aged 6-10, How to Train Your Dragon* will be on March 12 @ 2:30pm. Science North will be hosting Mighty Machines, an interactive science experience on March 13 @ 2:30pm for all ages. On March 14, dress to the nines, play games and decorate cupcakes (allergy alert!) at the Fancy Nancy Party* @ 2:30pm. Then on Friday March 15, come celebrate 50 years of Eric Carle with The Very Hungry Caterpillar, an all ages storytime with activities @ 10:30am. Friday also hosts Cartooning With Joe* where kids 7-12 can learn to draw @ 2:30pm . Lastly, the puppet show The Three Little Aliens and the Big Bad Robot for all ages will be on March 16 @ 2:30pm.
Don’t forget your teens! March break will have the library’s first Anime Night with Yuri!!! On Ice (rated 14A) on March 12 @ 6pm; munch on pizza and enjoy an activity at Waverley Library. Marvel fans aged 12-18 are invited to Captain Marvel Boot Camp Bonanza* at Waverley on March 14 @ 6pm with challenges to test your superhero abilities and DIY your own mini-cape! And County Park is hosting a Comic Book Crafting* for 10-17-year-olds for those who love and want to make comics on March 13 @ 2:30pm!
