Hounded by Kevin Hearne

There are a bunch of us at the library who are enamored with Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid Chronicles.  They’re about Atticus O’Sullivan, the last of the druids.  Atticus looks about 21 years old, but is actually 21 centuries old.  One of the secrets to his longevity (besides a tea that keeps him young) is an iron talisman which he has bound to his aura, protecting him from curses and other evil spells.  The other secret is his alliance with the Morrigan, the Celtic chooser of the slain, who helped Atticus steal the magical sword Fragarch, the Answerer, centuries ago; the Morrigan continues to help him outwit Aenghus Og, another Celtic God who wants Fragarach back.

In the first book, Hounded, Atticus is living in Arizona with his Irish wolfhound, Oberon. When the druid isn’t shape shifting and hunting with his dog, he’s running an occult bookstore and tea shop.  His idyllic life is shattered when Aenghus Og’s spies find him.  In the past, Atticus has avoided Aenghus Og by moving.  But this time, Atticus decides he isn’t going to run; he’s happy with the life he has now.  So he enlists the cute barmaid who has an ancient witch living inside her head and his supernatural attorneys to help him deal with Aenghus Og once and for all.
