‘Tis the season

With less than 8 months till Christmas, I thought I’d mention Lorna Landvik’s latest novel ‘Tis The Season!.  A 26 year old socialite Caroline Dixon sets out to atone to all the people she has managed to alienate with her drinking over the years.  In particular there were 2 people she wants to make amends to – Astrid,  her former nanny who now lives in Norway and Cyril,  the owner of an Arizona dude ranch. Astrid knew her as a little girl and Cyril knew her as a teen who was sent to stay with him, while her father was dying. Through a series of email Caroline reveals the depth of her pain, while Astrid and Cyril share their own stories of difficult times. All this leads up to a reunion just before Christmas.  So if you’re in the mood for some Christmas reading or just enjoy a good story – ‘Tis the Season!. – Karen Craib
